Quipthread
A minimal, self-hostable comment system with multi-provider authentication, a WYSIWYG editor, and a clean admin dashboard.
Quipthread is a comment system for people who want something clean, self-hostable, and practical. It is designed to cover the common needs without feeling bloated: sign-in, moderation, writing tools, and a dashboard that does not make routine tasks harder than they need to be.
Authentication support spans GitHub, Google, and email/password so it can fit a range of sites and audiences. The editor and admin experience matter just as much as the backend because comments are only useful when they are easy to write, review, and manage.
Current focus
- Keep the installation and self-hosting story simple.
- Support multiple sign-in paths without making the product feel heavy.
- Build an admin workflow that is fast for moderation and maintenance.
Why it matters
Most comment systems are either too hosted, too cluttered, or too old-feeling. Quipthread aims for a middle ground: modern, composable, and calm.
